Time and how to measure it.

I find a clock very useful when measuring time.  Oh look, here's one.  A beautiful wind-up banjo clock with a clipper ship motif.  (Go Clippers!)

This will work too.  A plug-in vintage Four Roses Whiskey clock.

And here's a perpetual calendar - this particular style with winding toggles is known as a "country calendar."  On next week's show we'll discover how to measure distance (perhaps find out what is a country mile).  But isn't that like measuring a measurement?  Oh, well, time flies.  We now know how long but not how far.  I'm beginning to confuse myself now, I better stop.

Stuff I've been working on.

I just finished restoring this vintage mechanic's step stool. $120

I love libraries.  There I said it.  However, there are so few with card catalogues.  Now you make amends with these...$60ea.

And finally this vintage three drawer filing cabinet. $52.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Saturday, October 27, 2012

It's beginning to feel a lot like Halloween.

What about these Woof & Poof characters?

A pumpkin man?  Yes, in his dapper scarf!

Which Witch? Why this one.
Hoo dat?

Vintage Italian Leather Luggage

Now, I love to travel.  I always imagine traveling with a certain panache.  Well, I've found the perfect luggage at least.

The insides are in immaculate condition, unused.

These bags are made in Italy with Cagiva Combination Locks. Just hearing the click of these locks sends a shiver up my spine.

I've heard the yellow bird cage sing...
From our opening last night.  A wonderful time was had by all!  Gallery owner Kerry Vitiello and artist Magaret von Biesen

A Banner Day!

Have you seen our new banner pointing out our opening tonight?

And a quick shout out to Meghan Haas, whose stained glass creation gave up this great picture hanging from our gazebo.  I think we'll call it Haas Glass!

And one final yodel across hill and dale to our window magician, Diana Jacobs, aka, the Littlest Dustmuffin.

Restored Bird Cage

Hours of painful sanding and a couple of minor injuries and viola!

Now it has that Post-Industrial meets Deco Glamor feel.  Very cool.

In the background you can see a small part of the Littlest Dustmuffin's new window.

Also people...don't forget SEEING THE CHANSON D'AUTOMNE opening this Friday.
